Big Bend Rapid (Left of the Island)

The channel left of the island is the shorter option, but technical and hazardous.

The entry is rocky and the gradient quite steep. The exit, approximately 150m later, is also tricky with two options. Either keep right and drop down a narrow chute or go left down a zig zagging channel. The lines are readable (not blind), however you need to act positively and confidently. Fatigue at this stage of the race usually contributes to errors here. At higher water levels it does become easier.
